This is one of the first recipes we ever made and is easily one of our favorite frosting recipes of all time. This frosting goes well with chocolate cake or cupcakes!

The thing about frosting is that everyone likes it differently. Some people prefer sweeter frosting, while others enjoy them with less sugar. This recipe has less sugar than the average frosting recipe because that is what we prefer. When making this frosting, I start by adding only the cream cheese and butter first, so that there are no clumps of cream cheese in the frosting. Cause who likes that? Then you can slowly mix everything else in until it is fluffy and well combined. Enjoy!

Tips

  • Making frosting is not an exact art - be sure to try it and adjust the flavors based on your preferences!

  • Before starting your frosting, make sure the cream cheese and butter are VERY soft - don't rush and start when they have just been taken out of the fridge.
